If you were stuck on a lifeboat in the middle of the ocean with strangers.
26 people in a lifeboat built for 12.
You were the Captain.
Would you throw some overboard to save the rest or if not what?

hmmm?
not really what i expected........or maybe it was.
Let me be more specific.

In their situation, with no water , in an open boat people will start to expire after 3 or 4 days.
In 7-10 days everybody will surely be dead.
with 26 people it will take 2 weeks to reach land- everybody dies.
with 13 people it will take 1 week- some live, some die.

you have a variety of people old, young.
black and white, men, women.

do you keep everybody and hope for the best or chuck some overboard?
if so which?

keep in mind rescue is possible, but so is a storm that will sink the boat,
